So I realize I told you all I wouldn't do this, I wouldn't be this person...but I'm sorry there's just too much going on all the time and I forget to blog! I'll try to be better. That's all I have to offer. Don't hate.
So last weekend was great! Friday we went to a soccer match! It was so legit. We went all out and painted our faces. Uruguay won against Ireland, 1-0, and I understood 27% of what was going on. Kelsie and Megan, our resident soccer hotshots, had to fill me in. All in all, a top night. Soy Celeste!

The next day, Sunday, we went to Raquel's church (she's our awesome cook) and met everyone there. It was very very small. Fun fact, most of Uruguay is secular so most churches are super small. After church we met everyone, introduce dead ourselves formally in Spanish, and then we all ate SO MUCH FOOD. So good. On the way home that day, I made a new friend again. I was looking through pictures on my phone on the bus and the lady next to me kept looking over her shoulder at the pictures I was looking at. So I started up conversation with, "Hey, this is my niece," naturally after thst I showed her the whole fam and used all my memorized Spanish phrases AND the lady gave me a Uruguayan kiss as I was leaving, boom, solid afternoon. We got home from church and did some homework and then had chapel with our group. This time it was like a soaking instead of regular chapel, so it was really really cool.
The next day we speech path majors went to the children's hospital! It was so cool. We got to see a few different therapy sessions that targeted swallowing. That was really cool because we hadn't seen many of those in the states. On our back from the children's hospital something crazy happened...we were waiting at the cross walk, chatting, when suddenly this lady next to us says, "is that English I hear?! I was just praying to God in English and now you are all here next to me, speaking I'm English! Where are you from?!" We told her we were from Texas, which she was equally excited about. Then we started walking through the cross walk and told us how she was just coming back from the British hospital and that she had all sorts of her discs out, but she was happy and in such a great mood. By this time we were all kind of taken aback and shocked at how up front and persistent she was to be talking to us, so Dr. Austin was trying to say thank you, nice to meet you, but the lady just kept talking. When we told the Crazy Lady we were staying in Montevideo, she said, "oh well good!! Have fun. Be safe. Uruguay is not as safe as it used to be. But not to worry, the pretty girls do not get raped yet... but the worst is yet to come!" On that note we bid her a shocking goodbye and walked home. That's one for the memory turtle for sure (Manuelita is a turtle basket we put any memory we think deserves to be especially remembered). After we got back home we had class and then all watched Evita Perón with everyone to prepare ourselves for Argentina this weekend.
Okay so the next day started out a little rough. Literally. It was like 5:00am, I had to go to the bathroom, and I'm already pretty uncoordinated. So, I can imagine you know what comes next right? Wrong. I tried climbing down my scary bunk bed, my shorts got caught or something, I tried to compensate, overcompensated and started leaning, and then I fell on the ground. With my bed. And my bed frame. On top of me. At 5:00am. I wasn't really sure what was happening until Sarah Caite, my roommate, was asking if I was okay. I said yes, righted my bed, put my mattress back, went to the bathroom, and crawled very carefully back into bed. Then when I got up to go run at 6:30, while running I rolled my ankle. Later I discovered that my knee was twice the size as my other knee and now I have a cool bruise. That was all before 7:30am. Like I said, rough start.

| I got a good sized raspberry and a nice looking bruise and later my back hurt SO bad. |
Next day was nice a chill. We went to our observations at Teletón, got to observe a session with a really sweet girl. We usually take our lunches because we stay after lunch. Well, Raquel told us she made boiled eggs for us as well. So, one my friends/fellow speech pather, packed an egg in her lunch. Later at teletón, she opened bag to discover egg. Raw egg. All over her lunch. She did not pick out the correct egg. So funny hahaha once we got home I did homework for a little while and then I skyped my mom for a long time! It was great. I love getting to talk to her anytime.
Next day we had classes all day, but before our class after lunch, we had to go get money from an ATM so wimon could change a lot of it at one time a get a better rate. That was so difficult. The first ATM we went to was broken and then the next two just wouldn't take our cards. So frustrating. Afterwards we had class again and the homework forever and the I face timed Bre and Rya! It was great. Rya is so cute chubby. Then I packed for Argentina and brain stormed with the pals on what to do in Argentina. You won't believe what we found...a Jesus theme park. Yes. I know. It is like a replica of Jerusalem complete with the food served, shows, and people dressed up. Soooo we may or may not hit that up. Oh! And in Argentina their steaks are supposed to be so delicious because they are not allowed to export the best cuts of meat, they have to stay in Argentina. So definitely having a steak dinner sometime while we are there. AND there is like this huge artesian fair people are only allowed to sell stuff they've made, so DEF gonna be doing that :) well, after Argentina I will check in again. I'm sorry this post is so long! I'll do what I can for next time!
Love you all.
Ciao desede el Sul!
Margarita
